Leeds United rejects Chelsea interest in Ethan Ampadu
Leeds United has indicated it has no intention of selling club captain Ethan Ampadu, despite ongoing speculation regarding a potential return to Chelsea. The Wales international, who joined Leeds permanently from Stamford Bridge in 2023, is a central figure in Daniel Farke’s tactical setup due to his ability to play in both midfield and defense.
Ampadu’s long-term contract, which runs until 2030, provides Leeds with significant negotiating leverage. Having previously won both the club’s Player of the Year and Players’ Player of the Year awards, he is considered a cornerstone of the club’s current project. While Chelsea has reportedly monitored his progress, reports suggest the London club is unlikely to make a serious move in the immediate future.
