Leeds United rejects potential offers for Dominic Calvert-Lewin
Leeds United has reportedly decided that it will not consider offers for striker Dominic Calvert-Lewin in the near future. The club's stance follows comments from former England striker Michael Owen, who suggested that Manchester United missed a significant opportunity by failing to sign the player when he was available as a free agent.
Leeds United expressed dissatisfaction with Owen’s remarks, viewing them as a lack of respect toward the club. The club emphasized that they showed faith in Calvert-Lewin’s fitness when other major teams were hesitant due to his injury history. Since joining Leeds as a free agent in the summer of 2025, Calvert-Lewin has revitalized his career, recording 15 goals in 39 games last season and starting the current campaign strongly.
Calvert-Lewin is currently under contract at Elland Road until 2028, leaving Leeds in a strong position regarding his future. While Manchester United continues to face goalscoring challenges, the historical rivalry between the two clubs and Leeds' refusal to entertain bids make a transfer unlikely.
