Leefbaar Rotterdam seeks debate over Zevenkamp housing plans

The political party Leefbaar Rotterdam is calling for a municipal debate regarding planned housing for homeless youth and young male status holders in the Zevenkamp district. The proposal involves housing 25 youths and approximately 25 status holders at the Frans Lehàrstraat location.

Council member Ronald Buijt noted significant unrest among local residents following a community meeting where many questions remained unanswered. Concerns raised by the party include the combination of different target groups, the atmosphere near the Nieuw Verlaat metro station, and potential conflicts with the nearby GGZ Delfland facility.

Additionally, the party is seeking clarification on the duration of stay for status holders. While current plans suggest a stay of 1.5 years or longer, the location is scheduled for demolition in early 2028, leading to questions regarding the timeline and long-term management of the site.
