Leer scrap yard fire triggers massive emergency response

A major fire broke out at a scrap yard in Leer, East Friesland, causing significant smoke and odor throughout the city area. Approximately 250 emergency responders, including hazardous materials units and the Meyer Werft factory fire brigade, were deployed to combat the flames.

While air quality measurements indicated elevated pollutant levels, police reported that no health hazard thresholds were exceeded.
