Lefkada: Three passengers safe after boat fire

A fire broke out on a vessel flying the Italian flag in the maritime area of the northern channel of Lefkada on Thursday afternoon.

Three foreign passengers on board managed to reach the shore safely after jumping into the sea. According to the Coast Guard, all three individuals are in good health. Emergency response efforts at the scene included a Coast Guard vessel, a fishing boat, two fire service vehicles on land, and a responding fire service speedboat.
