Lefkoşa selected as 2027 OIC Youth Capital

Lefkoşa has been unanimously selected as the 2027 Islamic Cooperation Organization (OIC) Youth Capital. The decision was made by the Board of the Islamic Cooperation Youth Forum (ICYF).

Fikri Ataoğlu, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Tourism, Culture, Youth and Environment, stated that the selection serves as a new window for the youth of Northern Cyprus to connect with the world. The year 2027 will feature various programs focusing on entrepreneurship, innovation, technology, environment, sustainability, sports, and youth diplomacy.

In a separate development, the first Autism Center in Northern Cyprus was inaugurated in Lefkoşa. The Mehmet and Nazife Taşker Autism Center, operating under the Department of Social Services, aims to support the development and social participation of individuals with autism and provide assistance to their families. The center initially has a capacity of 25 people.
