Lefkoşa police seize 100 grams of cannabis in Taşkent

Two individuals, identified as A. Ş. and E. M. K., appeared in court in Lefkoşa following a narcotics investigation. According to police testimony, authorities discovered 100 grams of cannabis and a precision scale hidden in a bag buried under a tree in the Taşkent area.

The investigation began after reports indicated A. Ş. was possessing and selling drugs at a residence in Lefkoşa. During a search of the suspect's home, police found a grinder, a hand-rolled cigarette, and 2 grams of cannabis. The suspect reportedly admitted to taking a bag from E. M. K.’s home on September 25, burying it in a forested area near Taşkent, and selling 65 grams of the contents for 350 euros before the remainder was recovered.

Police have requested an additional eight days to continue the investigation, which includes analyzing evidence and examining the suspects' mobile phones. Judge Gizem Erciyas ordered that both suspects remain in police custody for eight days for investigative purposes.
