Lefties makes UK retail debut with Liverpool flagship
Inditex has launched its budget fashion and lifestyle brand, Lefties, in the United Kingdom with the opening of a 27,000 sq ft flagship store at Liverpool ONE. The brand, which is a sister company to Zara, aims to compete with retailers such as Primark and Shein.
The Liverpool location features advanced retail technology designed to increase efficiency and reduce staffing costs. This includes robotic hanger sorters that organize items by size and radio-frequency identification (RFID) self-checkouts that allow customers to scan entire baskets at once. The store offers menswear, womenswear, kidswear, footwear, accessories, and homeware.
This opening marks the first of three planned UK locations for the year. The brand intends to open a second store at the Lakeside shopping centre in Essex in early October, followed by a third at the Metrocentre in Gateshead in November. The company's general director noted that while the initial rollout is focused on these locations, future expansion will depend on the performance of these first stores.
