Lega B reschedules Avellino-Palermo match due to heat concerns

Lega B has rescheduled the Serie B match between Avellino and Palermo, originally set for Sunday, September 13, to protect player health due to high temperatures. The kickoff has been moved from 15:00 to 17:15.

The decision follows a recent incident where Pisa midfielder Rosen Bozinhov suffered a dehydration crisis and was hospitalized during a match in Castellammare. Officials noted that the synthetic turf at the Partenio-Lombardi stadium tends to absorb and retain more heat than natural grass, increasing the risk to athletes.

While the Avellino-Palermo match was postponed, other Saturday fixtures in Vicenza, Padova, and Bolzano remain scheduled for 15:00 because those venues utilize natural grass surfaces.
