Lega deputy disputes education funding claims by Elly Schlein

Giovanna Miele, the Lega group leader for the Culture, Science, and Education Commission in the Chamber of Deputies, has criticized Democratic Party Secretary Elly Schlein over disputes regarding education funding.

Miele addressed claims that the Ministry of Education and Merit had halved funds for preschool services. She clarified that rather than a 193 million euro cut, resources for the 0-6 age group fund were actually increased in 2026. Miele stated that the ministry is prioritizing the reduction of educational inequality and supporting families to help women participate in the labor market.
