Lega proposes toll abolition on A6 motorway near Carmagnola

The Lega party has proposed the temporary abolition of tolls on the A6 motorway between Carmagnola and Torino. The initiative aims to alleviate city traffic while waiting for the completion of the local bypass.

The proposal has sparked political tension in the region. The center-left coalition, Carmagnola Insieme (comprising PD, Carmagnola Civica, and AVS), has criticized the move, accusing the majority of hypocrisy. They noted that similar previous proposals from minority groups were rejected by the center-right majority at the municipal level.

Additionally, the Azione party has characterized the proposal as an electoral campaign tactic. The text regarding the toll liberalization is expected to be discussed in the regional council as early as next week.
