Lega Serie A blocks Tring broadcasting signal

Lega Serie A has suspended the transmission of Serie A and Coppa Italia signals to the Albanian broadcaster Tring. The decision follows the league's efforts to protect the economic interests of Italian football clubs and official rights holders like DAZN and Sky.

The dispute centers on Tring's failure to implement effective geoblocking. While Tring holds a legal contract to broadcast matches in Albania, its satellite and internet services allowed users outside the country—including many in Italy—to access content without a VPN. This practice allowed subscribers to bypass more expensive Italian service providers.

Lega Serie A stated it will withhold signals until Tring provides sufficient guarantees that the service can be restricted to its intended geographic territory.
