Legacoop President proposes cooperative model for Southern Italy development

Simone Gamberini, president of Legacoop, has proposed the cooperative model as a primary solution to the economic, territorial, and social inequalities affecting Southern Italy, particularly in Puglia. During a press conference at the Fiera del Levante in Bari, Gamberini emphasized that the cooperative approach aims to address critical issues such as industrial crises, housing emergencies, the right to health, and the development of internal areas.

Gamberini also expressed concern regarding a proposed 30% reduction in Naspi (unemployment benefit) advances. He argued that such a measure is contradictory to government efforts to promote workers' buyouts, which allow employees to take over struggling companies. He suggested that cutting these funds undermines the ability of workers to invest in new enterprises and recover businesses.
