Canada to provide ongoing business support against U.S. tariffs

Canada will provide financial support to businesses impacted by U.S. tariffs for as long as necessary, according to Wayne Long, the Secretary of State for financial institutions and the Canada Revenue Agency. Speaking at a dairy farm in Sarnia, Long emphasized the government's determination to stand with Canadian workers and industry throughout the process.

The announcement follows the imposition of 50 per cent U.S. Section 338 tariffs, which affect approximately $28 billion worth of Canadian goods. In response, Canada has announced a $7.5 billion aid package to mitigate the economic impact of these trade measures.
