Legal and cultural experts discuss asset and heritage protection in Italy

Legal and consulting professionals recently convened in Italy to address the complex challenges of protecting high-value assets and cultural heritage.

At an event held at Casa Milan, experts discussed strategies for celebrities and athletes to safeguard their wealth. The discussion emphasized that protection must extend beyond financial investments to include reputation, digital security, and intellectual property. Given that sports industries can contribute up to 3% of Italy's GDP, professionals highlighted the need for integrated management to handle significant revenues generated during relatively short professional windows.

In Trieste, a separate conference focused on the resilience of cultural heritage against contemporary crises. Experts addressed the strategic destruction of cultural assets during conflicts, which serves to erase community identity, as well as the increasing risks posed by climate emergencies. The meeting called for better coordination between international humanitarian law, national criminal law, and UNESCO conventions, while also noting the role of the European Public Prosecutor's Office (EPPO) in combating illicit trafficking.
