Legal appeals advance in separate US murder conviction cases

Legal proceedings are advancing in two separate high-profile murder cases in the United States. In New Orleans, a Louisiana appeals court has overturned two 30-year-old murder convictions against Manuel Nelson. The court ruled that authorities failed to disclose critical evidence, including FBI wiretap transcripts involving former New Orleans Police Department officer Len Davis. The undisclosed records included conversations regarding the 1994 killings of Elbert Wynn and William Henry Jones. The ruling grants Nelson, who has been serving two life sentences, the right to a new trial.
