Legal developments in Argentina murder acquittal and Spanish serial killer trial

In Argentina, a jury in Concepción del Uruguay has declared Eric Javier Stegeman, also known as ‘Brian’, not guilty of the murder of Pablo Bedogni and the aggravated robbery of Bedogni’s mother. The incident occurred between September 4 and 5, 2024. The prosecution had argued that Stegeman, acting in co-authorship, strangled Bedogni and subsequently entered the victim's mother's home to commit robbery, but the jury reached a verdict of acquittal.
