A 50-year-old man has been arrested in Tivoli, near Rome, on charges of aggravated sexual violence against a 12-year-old girl. The investigation, conducted by the Rome State Police Mobile Squad, began in April following reports of repeated abuse.

Investigators state the suspect exploited his position as a relative and a frequent guest in the family home to abuse the minor. The incidents reportedly occurred primarily in the girl's bedroom and during car trips to a family holiday location. Evidence used in the investigation includes a video recorded by the victim during one of the trips.

A court order for custody was issued by the Court of Review and subsequently confirmed by the Court of Cassation.
