In the Dominican Republic, the Supreme Court of Justice rejected a cassation appeal filed by Argenis Contreras González. This decision upholds a sentence requiring Contreras González to serve a full 20-year prison term for the 2017 death of lawyer and university professor Yuniol Ramírez Ferreras. The ruling makes the conviction final, and the defendant must serve the sentence at the Najayo Hombres Correction and Rehabilitation Center and pay legal costs.
