Legal disputes arise over municipal data deletion and national Ombudsman vacancy
A dispute has emerged between Judge Canosa and municipal authorities following the disappearance of traffic statistics from the Court of Misdemeanors' systems. Judge Canosa alleged that anonymous actors deleted the data, suggesting it might be a “mafia message” following his criticisms of municipal inoperability.
In response, Municipal Secretary of Finance and Production Gonzalo Menestrina denied the allegations, characterizing them as unfounded rumors intended to cast suspicion on municipal IT staff. Menestrina urged a formal investigation and questioned whether the Court had maintained adequate backups to safeguard its information.
Separately, lawyers representing CONADUV and the Reset Republicano Organization have filed a criminal complaint in Federal Court against members of a parliamentary commission. The complaint alleges a failure to perform official duties regarding the vacancy of the National Ombudsman, a position that has remained unfilled for over fifteen years. The legal action, overseen by Judge Ariel Lijo, argues that this vacancy leaves consumer rights and road safety protections vulnerable.
