Legal & General Group reports strong 2026 earnings and high dividend yield
Legal & General Group plc has demonstrated strong performance in 2026, with its share price rising significantly since the start of the year. The company recently hiked its full-year earnings forecasts following a successful restructuring programme. During the first half of 2026, core operating profit rose 7% to £918 million, driven largely by a 37% jump in fee-related earnings within its Asset Management division.
The financial group currently offers a 7.1% dividend yield, the highest in the FTSE 100. The company has a history of increasing shareholder payouts and is currently executing a £1.2 billion share buyback programme. While the stock has approached all-time highs, some analysts suggest the current price remains near average targets, positioning it as a steady dividend-oriented investment.
