Legal proceedings and arrests reported in Italian criminal cases
In Imperia, a 25-year-old Tunisian man is facing trial for allegedly committing sexual violence against two girls, aged 15 and 18, in Oneglia in December 2022. The prosecution alleges the man approached the victims in various locations, including Piazza Dante and Via Vieusseux, and subjected them to unwanted touching and exposure. During a recent hearing before Judge Massimiliano Botti, it was noted that the defendant, who is currently homeless, has been unlocatable since 2024, prompting judicial authorities to order a search for him.
In Adrano, a 27-year-old Tunisian man has been detained on suspicion of attempted murder following a knife attack on a compatriot. Police intervened during an altercation and discovered a victim with chest wounds from a blade. The suspect, who was reportedly an irregular migrant with an existing expulsion decree, was identified through victim testimony and surveillance footage. He was apprehended near a municipal villa and has been transferred to the Piazza Lanza prison in Catania.
