Legal proceedings continue for Zoltán Herczeg and Péter Pál Juhász
In separate legal developments in Hungary, fashion designer Zoltán Herczeg and former prison director Péter Pál Juhász face ongoing criminal proceedings.
Prosecutors have appealed a previous ruling regarding Zoltán Herczeg, seeking to upgrade a suspended one-year sentence to an unsuspended prison term. Herczeg, who was detained in 2022 on drug possession charges, admitted to consumption but denied distribution. He has expressed dissatisfaction with the prosecution's request, stating he feels the punishment is excessive for a first-time offender.
Meanwhile, the Budai Central District Court has extended the detention of Péter Pál Juhász, the former director of the Szőlő Street Juvenile Institute, and his partner until November 28. Juhász is suspected of human trafficking, forced labor, and exploitation for prostitution. Additionally, the Central Investigative Chief Prosecutor's Office has charged the pair with breach of trust and the use of multiple forged private documents. The investigation involving the institute currently includes twelve suspects.
