Legal proceedings continue in German forgery and Swiss banking trials
Legal proceedings are underway in two separate high-profile cases in Germany and Switzerland.
In Weiden, Germany, a trial regarding alleged testament forgery has intensified. The court is examining the circumstances surrounding the death of the defendant's former partner. Police testimony highlighted unusual behavior from the accused on the night of the death, including the unsolicited repetition of a detailed alibi and the discovery of empty medication packaging. The defendant has denied any wrongdoing, stating the deceased was the ‘love of his life.’
In Zurich, Switzerland, defense attorney Lorenz Erni delivered a six-hour closing argument in the Vincenz trial. Erni focused on creating reasonable doubt regarding allegations of conflicts of interest and improper payments involving Commtrain and Investnet. The defense argued that certain transactions, such as a loan for a villa in Morcote, were legitimate and that previous judicial assessments were speculative.
