Legal proceedings in Argentina and Chile involve theft and homicide suspects
In Argentina, a man faces charges for two separate property crimes in San Carlos de Bariloche. Prosecutors allege he broke into a kindergarten in the early hours of September 8 to steal a television and a guitar. He is also accused of shoplifting a garment from a local business in March. Due to his mental health status, a judge ordered that his 15-day preventive detention be served in a hospital.
In Chile, Ghislaín Quiroz Carrizo, 42, has been ordered into provisional hospitalization at a Gendarmería medical facility following a confession regarding the 2008 disappearance of Mariana Sepúlveda in Conchalí. The suspect admitted to killing the 19-year-old and burying her in his home, later allegedly moving the remains. He faces charges of aggravated homicide and illegal burial/exhumation. Prosecutors are awaiting medical evaluations to determine if his cognitive condition requires a special legal procedure.
