Legal proceedings initiated in sexual assault cases in Puerto Rico and France

In Puerto Rico, prosecutor Lourdes L. Gómez Torres has filed three criminal charges against a transport driver involved in a sexual assault that occurred on September 29 in Santurce. The victim, a 19-year-old, was reportedly subjected to physical force during the incident. The court has set bail at $30,000 and ordered electronic monitoring for the defendant until a preliminary hearing scheduled for October 15.

In France, jazz pianist Jacky Terrasson has been placed under formal investigation for sexual assault on a minor. The charges stem from a complaint by a teenager alleging she was raped in 2015 when she was six years old. While the musician has been placed under the status of 'witness assisted' regarding the rape allegation, his lawyers maintain that he contests the accusations. The investigation is ongoing.
