Legal rulings issue sentences for sexual offenses against minors
In separate legal developments, courts in Mexico and the United States have handed down sentences for sexual offenses against minors.
In Mulegé, Baja California Sur, Jesús Ricardo “N” was sentenced to 10 years in prison for the rape of a teenager. The incident occurred in the Bahía Tortugas community in September 2023 and was reported in 2024. In addition to prison time, the defendant must pay a fine and provide psychological therapy for the victim as part of the reparations for damages.
In San Diego County, California, 67-year-old Michael D. Graham was sentenced to 60 years to life in prison. Graham pleaded guilty to six felony counts, including forced rape, sodomy, and aggravated sexual assault, involving a 6-year-old girl in 1996. The crimes, which included torture and occurred during a residential robbery, had remained unpunished for nearly 30 years until his recent conviction.
