Legaltech startup Wordsmith AI secures $14 million Series B extension

Edinburgh‑founded legal‑tech company Wordsmith AI announced a $14 million Series B extension, bringing the total round to $84 million. The extension was led by new investor Intact Private Capital and included existing backers Highland Europe, Index Ventures and FT Ventures, which also became a shareholder.

Founded by CEO Ross McNairn, CTO Volodymyr Giginiak and COO Robbie Falkenthal, Wordsmith AI has seen revenue grow fourteen‑fold year on year and now serves more than 500 enterprises, including BT, the Financial Times, Sage, Starling, Canva and Safelite. McNairn said, “Since we announced our Series B, some of the world’s largest enterprises have chosen Wordsmith AI… This extension gives us more room to move faster, particularly in North America and across financial services and insurance.” The new capital will deepen the firm’s presence in North America and strengthen its focus on the financial services and insurance sectors.
