Legare launches debut timepiece inspired by historical horology
New high-end watch brand Legare has officially launched its debut timepiece, the Chapter 1 AGP Inverted. The brand was founded by Wei Koh, founder of Revolution and The Rake, and industry veteran Guillaume Tetu, formerly of Hautlence, TAG Heuer, and Ralph Lauren.
Based in La Chaux-de-Fonds, Legare aims to connect historical horological concepts with contemporary watchmaking. The Chapter 1 AGP Inverted is inspired by a 1932 pocket watch created by Albert-Gustave Piguet, which featured a unique double balance and differential. The new design modernizes this concept by inverting the movement to display the moving train from the front.
The 37.5mm titanium watch is available in two versions: one with a traditional untreated German silver movement and another with a black-rhodium finish. Production is highly limited, with only 25 pieces available for each of the two executions.
