Legia Warsaw coach Papszun urges striker Rajović to improve after 1-0 season‑opening win

Legia Warsaw began the Ekstraklasa season with a 1‑0 victory over Pogoń Szczecin in Szczecin, the only goal coming in added time from Zoran Arsenić, who joined the club from Raków Częstochowa during the summer.

Coach Marek Papszun praised the team's overall effort, character and determination, but cautioned that consistency is needed. He addressed fan criticism of Danish forward Mileta Rajović, noting that Rajović scored 10 goals in 43 matches last season after being signed from Watford for €3 million, the club's record transfer. Papszun said he understands the supporters, has patience with the player, and wants him to become more effective, adding that the team will create more chances for him.

Papszun also mentioned that the squad is largely injury‑free, with Rafał Adamski back in training and competing for a place. Legia’s next league match is scheduled for Sunday at 14:45 against Zagłębie Lubin.
