Cibona basketball club dismisses coach Ivan Rudež

Croatian basketball club Cibona has announced the mutual termination of its contract with head coach Ivan Rudež. The decision follows a difficult start to the season, including three consecutive losses in the ABA League and a 77-95 defeat against Legia Warsaw in the FIBA Champions League.

Sports Director Marin Rozić expressed gratitude for Rudež’s contributions, noting that his tenure included winning the Croatian championship and returning the club to European competition. Despite the recent struggles, the club highlighted the successes achieved during his mandate.

Assistant coaches Neven Nikolić and Andrej Štimac will temporarily lead the team until a new head coach is appointed. The club's leadership indicated that the decision was made in the best interest of both parties as they seek to stabilize the team's performance.
