Legia Warszawa defender Jan Leszczyński transfers to Borussia Mönchengladbach

Legia Warszawa sports director Fredi Bobić has provided details regarding the transfer of 19-year-old defender Jan Leszczyński to Borussia Mönchengladbach. Bobić noted that the decision involved discussions with coach Marek Papszun, who indicated that the player would likely struggle to secure significant playing time given the current squad situation.

Financial factors also played a role in the move. Borussia Mönchengladbach reportedly paid a base fee of approximately €3 million, with potential bonuses bringing the total package to around €4 million. Bobić admitted that while he was reluctant to sell the homegrown talent, the club's economic situation necessitated the transaction.
