Legia Warszawa faces scrutiny over away sector closure

Legia Warszawa is facing scrutiny following its decision to close the away supporters' sector at its stadium until the end of the year, citing the need for renovations and legal issues regarding municipal land. However, both the Police and the Warsaw Greenery Board have clarified that they did not demand the closure of the sector.

The Polish Football Association (PZPN) expressed concern regarding the timing of this decision, noting it occurs immediately before a scheduled match against Wisła Kraków. PZPN confirmed that the away sector currently meets all infrastructure requirements set in the licensing manual. The Ekstraklasa league has also requested urgent explanations from Legia to ensure fair conditions for both clubs.

In a contrasting stance, Lech Poznań president Piotr Rutkowski stated that Wisła Kraków fans will be permitted to enter the Bułgarska stadium normally during their upcoming match, dismissing similar tactics as inappropriate for a club of their stature.
