Legia Warszawa to bar away fans from stadium until end of 2026

Legia Warszawa has announced that its away fan sector will remain closed until the end of 2026, meaning visiting supporters will be barred from upcoming matches, including the high-profile fixture against Wisła Kraków. The club cited the need for modernization works and land lease issues as the primary reasons for the closure.

This decision has sparked significant controversy. Wisła Kraków President Jarosław Królewski criticized the move, suggesting it was a pretext to exclude away fans. The PZPN Club Licensing Commission has penalized Legia, imposing a fine of 250,000 PLN for every home match played without visiting supporters due to what they termed “arbitrary temporary exclusion of the sector.”

Legia President Marcin Herra defended the club’s actions, stating that all legal procedures for organizing mass events were followed and that necessary permits from the police and municipal authorities were obtained. He noted that modernization work, including the installation of a new Fan Service Point, has already commenced to resolve the situation as quickly as possible.
