Legia Warszawa has officially announced the loan signing of Japanese defender Shinnosuke Fukuda from Kyoto Sanga FC. The 26-year-old right-back joins the Polish club on a deal lasting until the end of the 2026/27 season, wearing the number 2 shirt.

Fukuda, a former Consadole Sapporo academy player and Meiji University student, brings significant J1 League experience, having recorded 89 appearances and 10 goals. He was previously recognized with the J1 League Outstanding Player Award. Upon his arrival, Fukuda expressed his excitement, stating, “I believe that your amazing support will give me wings.”

Club sporting director Fredi Bobic noted Fukuda’s speed and mobility, though he mentioned the player will need time to adapt to the local culture and league. Former Legia player Ryoya Morishita, who played with Fukuda at university, also endorsed the transfer, describing him as a “very good person, honest and upright, and above all, a very good player.” Fukuda becomes only the second Japanese player in the club's history.
