Legia Warszawa to close away sector until 2026 for safety upgrades
Legia Warszawa has announced the closure of the away sector at its stadium until the end of 2026. The decision follows formal requests from the Warsaw City Greenery Board and the Warsaw Regional Police Headquarters.
The authorities have called for the immediate regularization of the legal status of municipal property adjacent to the away sector entrance, as well as essential renovation and construction work to improve safety. Required upgrades include installing protective netting over the mezzanine area, replacing security netting between the away and southern stands, modernizing video surveillance, and installing an additional sliding gate.
As a result of these safety requirements, fans of Wisła Kraków will be the first to be barred from visiting the Łazienkowska stadium. Four other Ekstraklasa clubs will also face similar restrictions during the autumn round.
