Legislative actions in Argentina address school expansion and environmental remediation

In Buenos Aires, a bill has been presented to the City Legislature to expropriate a property at Deán Funes 1065. The goal is to expand the Escuela Normal Superior N° 8 ‘Presidente Julio A. Roca’ in the San Cristóbal neighborhood. The school, which provides initial, primary, secondary, and tertiary education, currently faces significant space constraints, forcing some secondary students to attend an annex alongside primary and initial level students.

In Mendoza, the provincial government has enacted Law 9736, declaring a nine-hectare plot in Los Corralitos, Guaymallén, subject to expropriation for public utility. The Department General of Irrigation (DGI) will manage the process to construct an artificial wetland system. This system is designed to treat industrial effluents from the Pescara collector, which serves approximately 32 industrial establishments. The project aims to improve water quality for over 3,300 hectares of productive land that rely on the water for agricultural irrigation.
