Legislative bodies approve tax exemptions and land donations

The Legislative Assembly of El Salvador has approved a new transitory provision to exempt Salvadoran artists from Income Tax (ISR) on earnings from artistic services and the sale of artworks. For individuals, the exemption applies to annual income between $0.01 and $15,000, while legal entities are exempt for income up to $25,000. The measure will remain in effect for five years and is designed to simplify the process by preventing tax withholding at the time of service.

In Mexico, the Finance and Municipal Heritage Commission of the Congress of Puebla approved projects to authorize the municipalities of Yaonáhuac and Zacatlán to donate land to the State Government of Puebla. These donations are intended for educational purposes: the construction of the University of Health of the State of Puebla in Yaonáhuac and the installation of Digital Baccalaureate Number 13 in Zacatlán. Additionally, the commission issued an exhortation to municipalities to ensure that local revenue laws include only justified charges to maintain tax equity and transparency.
