Legislative bodies in Brazil prepare to vote on diverse local projects

Municipal and regional legislative bodies in Brazil are scheduled to debate several key proposals affecting public safety, health, and administration.

In Araçatuba, the City Council is set to discuss projects including a proposal by Councilor Sol do Autismo to authorize the use of vegetable extract sprays as a self-defense tool for women. Other topics include animal protection and administrative ethics.

In Marília, the City Council will address eight projects, notably a resolution to establish a partnership with the São Paulo State Secretariat of Public Security. This agreement aims to increase the presence of Military Police at the legislative facilities through special duty payments. Additionally, a municipal program is proposed to allow citizens to regularize debts related to fines and the Simples Nacional regime.

In Rio Grande do Sul, the Legislative Assembly has twenty-seven matters ready for plenary sessions. These include a state plan for reviewing public spending, a proposal to recognize a cancer combat league as a matter of social interest, and legislation regarding the mandatory presence of physiotherapists in intensive care units. Other items include requirements for Pix payments at toll plazas and a project to recognize a state of climate emergency with a goal of greenhouse gas neutrality by 2050.
