Legislative developments in Formosa and Uruguay

In Formosa, Argentina, Councilman José Delguy has criticized a legislative proposal submitted by Cecilia Macarena Romero Depretto regarding fiscal transparency. The project aims to require businesses to include the exact impact of municipal taxes on the final price of products and services on commercial receipts. Delguy argued that the initiative lacks technical foundation and fails to explain how small merchants, such as kiosk owners, would calculate these specific amounts. He noted that while the principle of transparency is agreeable, the proposal contains contradictions and imposes obligations without clear implementation guidelines.

In Uruguay, Law No. 18.384 regulates the activities of artists and related professions. The statute defines artists, creators, and performers, covering live and recorded works, as well as visual artists and writers. To access legal protections and social security benefits, individuals must register with the National Registry of Artists and Related Activities, which is managed under the Ministry of Labor and Social Security.
