Legnano commemorates 1943 Legnarello bombing victims

Local authorities and community members in Legnano recently held a commemoration to mark the anniversary of the 1943 bombing in the Legnarello district. On the night of August 13, 1943, an Allied air raid struck the intersection of via Galvani and via Moscova, resulting in 30 official fatalities, including several children, and numerous injuries.

During the ceremony, which included representatives from Associarma and ANPI, local officials emphasized the importance of preserving historical memory to prevent such tragedies from recurring. Survivors and witnesses shared personal accounts of the night, describing the suddenness of the attack and the devastation left in its wake. The event served as a tribute to the victims, such as the Totè and Marnati families, who were profoundly impacted by the explosion.
