Legnano students commemorate partisan Mauro Venegoni

Approximately 200 people gathered in Cassano Magnago to mark the 82nd anniversary of the death of Mauro Venegoni, a local partisan and symbol of the Italian Resistance. The commemoration included students from the Istituto Bernocchi, who emphasized the importance of defending democratic values and resisting indifference.

Local officials, including the mayors of Legnano and Cassano Magnago, participated in the ceremony. Speakers highlighted Venegoni’s refusal to betray his ideals despite torture and death, framing his sacrifice as a foundation for modern democracy. Representatives from ANPI and various local municipalities also attended to honor the historical memory of the anti-fascist struggle.
