Qualitas Energy acquires Cero Generation’s 5.8GW renewable portfolio

Qualitas Energy has acquired the 5.8GW European renewable energy portfolio of Cero Generation. The transaction was executed through the Qualitas Energy Fund VI financing vehicle, though the specific financial terms were not disclosed.

Cero Generation, which was founded in 2021 by the Australia-headquartered Macquarie Group, will continue to operate under its current name. The acquired portfolio consists of 2GW of operational assets located in the United Kingdom, Spain, and Italy, alongside a 3.8GW pipeline of solar PV and battery energy storage projects.

Daniel Parejo, managing partner and chief investment officer of Qualitas Energy, stated that the acquisition is a strategic fit for the company’s European portfolio and aligns with its vertically integrated industrial model.
