Lego expands Smart Play line with 12 interactive Pokémon sets

Lego has introduced 12 new Pokémon sets as part of its Smart Play range. The sets use the Smart Brick system, which embeds sensors and tags that can trigger sounds, lights and other actions when moved close together. Prices range from about £17.99 (≈ €15) for smaller builds up to £79.99 (≈ €120) for larger ones, and the products will be in stores from 1 August. The line follows an earlier collector‑focused Pokémon launch in January that featured premium models costing over £500.

Lego’s chief marketing and product officer Julia Goldin said, “Fans can build, train and interact with their Lego Pokémon creatures through hands‑on, imaginative play that encourages creativity, confidence and storytelling.” The Smart Play sets can be combined, allowing multiple Pokémon to interact in larger play scenarios.
