LEGO kicks off football summer in Munich with Lukas Podolski
LEGO staged a football‑themed fan festival at Munich’s BMW Park on 15 June 2026. The event mixed gameshow elements, creator competitions and a live audience, featuring LEGO brand ambassador Joko Winterscheidt, host Steven Gätjen and former World‑Cup winner Lukas Podolski, who acted as a mental‑coach.
Participants from creator teams such as Tisi Schubech, ViscaBarca, Gamerbr0ther and the Brotatos faced challenges like “Parcour Dribbling”, “Quiz Jump” (hosted by Twitch star Elias Nerlich) and “Kugel Kick”, often inside large inflatable balls. Podolski rallied the crowd with chants of “Poldi” and advised the finalists, saying “Man müsse einfach draufhauen”.
A world‑record attempt was also part of the show: a 5‑metre‑diameter football constructed from more than 250 000 LEGO bricks, weighing over 1 800 kg, was officially recognised as the largest LEGO football. The creator team Brotatos won the “Elite Elfer” cup.
The event attracted families, football fans and young visitors, blending LEGO play with football excitement.
