LEGO launches Smart Play System and previews 2026 set lineup

LEGO introduced the new SMART Play System, featuring Smart Bricks equipped with proximity, color and motion sensors, along with Smart Tags and Smart Minifigures that trigger sound and lighting effects without the need for a screen. The system includes a parental‑control app for firmware updates and settings, and a charging station that powers the brick for 10–20 minutes of play after a two‑hour charge.

In addition, LEGO announced its officially confirmed 2026 releases. The lineup spans several themes, including a One Piece‑inspired Garp’s Marine Battleship, an Imperial Lambda‑Class Shuttle from the Star Wars universe, a Megatron Robot & Vehicle set from Transformers, a miniature Sega Genesis console, a Triceratops dinosaur fossil set, and a large‑scale Spider‑Man Hero Figure. All sets are slated for release later in 2026 and are priced from roughly $24 to $180.
