Lego replica of FIFA World Cup trophy unveiled at Rockefeller Plaza

An 8.5‑metre (27‑ft) replica of the FIFA World Cup trophy, built from 1.36 million Lego bricks, was installed at Rockefeller Plaza in New York City. The model was constructed over eight months at Lego’s Kladno plant in the Czech Republic, requiring more than 7,000 hours of work by a team of 59 designers, engineers and builders.

The completed sculpture was shipped in 16 sections across the Atlantic, re‑assembled on Fifth Avenue, and officially opened on 6 July 2026 by former Brazil captain Cafu, who placed the final brick and cut a ribbon. It anchors a free FIFA Fan Village that runs through 19 July, offering interactive building stations, a football‑themed brick mural and a Lego Store where visitors can customize minifigures.

The exhibit highlights the partnership between Lego and FIFA, showcasing the scale of the build and celebrating the global community of football fans.
