LEGO to launch Donkey Kong arcade set for August 2024
LEGO is set to release a new brick-built replica of the 1981 Donkey Kong arcade cabinet. The set contains 1,367 pieces, is priced at US$200 and is planned for an August launch, possibly on the first day of the month. The model faithfully reproduces the original machine with functional buttons, a joystick, a screen showing the opening level, and features the game's original characters Jumpman (later known as Mario) and Pauline.
The release coincides with the 45th anniversary of Donkey Kong, a title that helped launch Nintendo’s global success. The set follows a series of LEGO‑Nintendo collaborations that have included LEGO versions of Super Mario, The Legend of Zelda and Pokémon themes.
LEGO’s announcement comes after earlier leaks and a brief teaser in May, confirming the details of the upcoming set for fans of both brands.
