LEGO to Release Pokémon Smart Play Sets with Interactive Smart Bricks in August

LEGO has leaked details of four upcoming Pokémon-themed building sets that will incorporate its Smart Play technology. The sets – Cubone and Gengar's Spooky Showdown, Jigglypuff Concert, Charmander and Geodude's Cavern Clash, and Charizard vs Jolteon Ultimate Battle – each feature Smart Bricks that interact with NFC‑enabled Smart Tags to trigger sound and light effects during play.

Images posted by Brick Tap show that the sets are scheduled to hit stores on 1 August 2026. While some sets include Smart Bricks, others will require fans to purchase a Smart Brick separately, such as the $69.99 LEGO TIE‑Fighter set that currently bundles one. The Smart Play platform was introduced earlier this year and is being expanded beyond its initial limited rollout.
