LEGOLAND Water Park Gardaland unveils giant LEGO Laboon statue

LEGOLAND® Water Park Gardaland in Italy will host a massive LEGO sculpture of Laboon, the iconic whale from Eiichiro Oda’s One Piece series. The statue is built from more than 25,000 LEGO bricks, stands over two metres tall and weighs about 300 kg. It was designed and constructed by Italy’s sole LEGO Certified Professional, Riccardo Zangelmi, together with a second builder, after roughly 100 hours of work.

The installation will be on display on selected days in August, including 3, 4, 10, 11, 17, 18, 24, 25, 29 and 30, from 11:00 to 19:00. Visitors can take selfies with Laboon and present the photos at the park’s LEGO shop for a surprise gift, subject to availability. The event adds a pop‑culture experience to the park, which is Italy’s only LEGO‑themed water park and the first of its kind in Europe.
